Respected Sir, point wise reply is as under:
1. The water balance submitted by the industry has been reviewed and it is found that the industry relies on various processes, each with its specific water consumption requirements. Firstly, the processing of raw materials, involving tasks like CIP (Cleaning-in-place), spent grain management, and mixing, demands de-mineralized water free from foreign particles, totaling 305 KLD.
Secondly, the bottling section, essential for preparing beer packaging, necessitates extensive washing and sterilization of bottles to ensure the purity of the final product, with a water requirement of 200 KLD.
Additionally, the CO2 plant is also installed for providing CO2 gas for beer production before packaging, consuming 6 KLD of water.
Furthermore, the boiler operation requires makeup water for steam generation, with a daily consumption of 85 KL, of which 65 KL is utilized for makeup water, and 20 KL is sent as blowdown to the ETP. Similarly, the cooling tower relies on makeup water for its operation, consuming 20 KL daily, with approximately 10 KL of blowdown directed to the ETP. Lastly for floor and machinery washing industry consumes approximately 42 KL of water per day across the industry.
As mentioned above, the water balance is found in order in light of various processes regarding water consumption, wastewater generation and re-utilization of treated wastewater etc.
2. Regarding, the proposal for utilization of paddy straw pellets in its boiler, the industry has submitted that they are in the process of exploring various technical and economic viabilities for converting their boiler fuel from husk to paddy straw pellet. For that reason the industry has also obtained technical report from M/s Cheema Boiler Limited regarding conversion of fuel (copy enclosed).
Therefore, recommendations may be sent to the Competent Authority that renewal of consent to operate may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2029 with suitable conditions and special condition that the industry shall submit final proposal to the Board within 2 months, regarding utilization of paddy straw pellets in its boiler after considering both technical feasibility and economic viability.
