As already detailed in my note dated 18.03.2024, it is informed that the CPCB has only classified poultry farms on the basis of number of birds for easy bifurcation only as under: 1. Small (5,000-25,000 bird) 2. Medium (above 25,000-1,00,000 birds). 3. Large (above 1,00,000 birds.
However, as per the categorization of the industry into large/ medium/ small scale is being carried out by the Board on the basis of total value of the plant & machinery of the industry. The value of the plant & machinery of the poultry farm is 174.45 lakhs which is less than 5 cr, hence, it falls under small scale and competency to decide the case lies with Environmental Engineer, RO. As in this case, earlier SCN was issued at Zonal Office level, therefore, to decide the application of the poultry farm prior approval is required from the SEE, Zonal Office-II, Patiala, please. |
