• The institute was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 valid upto 31.12.2023 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 valid upto 31.03.2024 for manufacturing of Heat Treatment @ 500 MT/Year, Die Tools @ 24 MT/Year, Forging Steel @ 920 MT/Year by using Alloy Steel @24 MT/Year, Alloy Steel Carbon @ 300 MT/Year & Carbon Steel @ 550 MT/Year as raw material.
• Now, the institute has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for manufacturing of Heat treatment @ 500 MT/Year Die Tools @ 24 MT/Year Forging Steel @ 550 MT/Year by using Alloy Steel @ 24 MT/Year Alloy Steel Carbon @ 300 MT/Year Carbon Steel @ 550 MT/Year and detail of same is as under:
1. The institute has deposited Rs. 2,31,240/- vide R. No. 41/5585 dated 28.03.2024 under Water Act, 1974 and 10% penalty adequate upto 31.12.2027 and Rs. 1,69,200/- vide R No. 41/5585 dated 28.03.2024 under Air Act, 1981 against from assets of Rs. 4895.39 Lacs, which are adequate upto 31.03.2026.
• The institute was visited by the AEE of this office on 03.04.2024 and it was observed as under:
1. The institute was in operation during the visit and is engaged in manufacturing of Heat treatment, Die Tools, Forging Steel.
2. The institute has installed 2 no. oil fired forging furnace of capacity 01 ton and 02 ton with adequate stack height.
3. The institute has also installed 2 nos. gas carburizing furnaces, 03 no. tempering furnaces and 4 no. electric induction heaters in its premises.
4. The institute has installed two D.G sets of capacity 120 KVA, 325 KVA with canopies and adequate stack height.
5. There is no source of trade effluent generation and only domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.
The institute has complying with the conditions of under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the institute upto 30.09.2026 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board. (Competency CEE)
