It is intimated that the industry is small scale red category unit and was earlier granted consent to operates under Water Act, 1974 for Dyeing of acrylic yarn @ 1500 Kg/day & Finished shawls @ 300 Nos/day.
Earlier, the industry was issued notice to issue directions u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 with opportunity of personal hearing before the Chief Environmental Engineer Ludhiana on 31.10.2023 and directions u/s 33-A of Water Act, 1974 were confirmed against the industry for disconnection of electric connection.
The industry has now applied for consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for Washing of Acrylic Yarn @ 1500 Kg/day and Finished Shawls @ 300 nos./day, and the process is primarily orange category i.e. washing.
If approved, RO may be requested to clarify whether washing process is required in dyeing of acrylic yarn, please
