File Note: RO has reported that earlier, the shopping store was granted consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/ASR/2019/9478816 dated 19/06/2019 valid upto 31/03/2024 and under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/ASR/2019/9478960 dated 19/06/2019, valid up to dated 31/03/2024 for shopping store with usual terms and conditions. Now the shopping store has applied for obtaining renewal of consent to operate Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. Detail of the case are us under: - 1. The shopping store has submitted CA certificate dated 20.12.2023, with value of gross fixed assets as Rs. 1354.03 Lakhs. The shopping store has deposited Rs. 108000/- vide UTR No. HSBCN24067128074 dated 07.03.2024 as consent fee under Air Act, 1981, which it is adequate upto 31.03.2029 under Air Act, 1981. 2. The shopping store has submitted compliance report of consent granted under Air Act, 1981. The unit was visited by undersigned on 02.04.2024 and observed as under: - 1. The unit is a shopping store of Walmart India Private Limited and was in operation at the time of visit. 2. The shopping store has installed 02 no. D.G. Set of capacity 250 KVA and 500 KVA which are provided with canopies and adequate stack height. The shopping store is complying with conditions of consent granted under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 RO has recommended that renewal of consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2029 with suitable terms and condition. Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that renewal of consent to operate under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2029 with suitable terms and condition along with special conditions as under:- (i) Project proponent (PP) may also develop the vermicomposting/composting to manage the biodegradable solid waste. PP shall not throw, burn or bury any solid wastes in open, outside premises or in drain / water bodies. (ii) PP shall perform / promote its Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) activities as well as use of alternatives of single use plastics (SUP) and awareness to discourage use of plastic (See attached banner/circular). (iii) PP shall ensure that there are no usages of single use plastic- thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches/water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocol or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises. (iv) The project proponent shall properly handle and manage the solid wastages as per the provisions of the Municipal Solid Waste Rules 2016 and ensure that the solid waste is segregated & disposed of in an environmentally sound manner. (v) PP shall carry out awareness and activities for the themes / action points identified under Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for the Environment) by Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change given at the website (http://missionlife-moefcc.nic.in).
