It is submitted that the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 both valid upto 30/09/2026 for the manufacturing of Nut bolts @ 4080 MT/year.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining ‘consent to establish'/ (NOC) under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 with requisite documents to set up hot dip galvanized zinc plant for Nut and Bolts.
RO reported that the industry has proposed to set up hot dip galvanized zinc plant for Nut and Bolts. It has signed an agreement with CETP i.e. M/s JBR Technology Ltd. for lifting of effluent @ 8000 ltr/month, which will be generating from galvanizing process (i.e. surface cleaning with acid before galvanizing). The washed water is re-used in washing after passing through treatment setup provided by the industry which comprises of oil and grease trap, collection tank, reaction – cum settling tank followed by storage tank from which the water is re-used for washing purpose. It has installed 1 no. LDO based zinc melting furnace of capacity 400 Kgs/hr equipped with top hood followed by wet scrubber as APCD and stack of adequate height.
The industry has installed 2 no. DG sets of capacities 165 & 500 KVA, which are equipped with canopies and adequate stack heights. There will be generation of hazardous waste of category 5.1, which is required to be disposed off to the authorized recycler.
In view of report of RO, it is recommended that ‘consent to establish'/ (NOC Expansion) under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for installation of melting furnace of capacity 400 kgs/day for galvanizing of nuts & bolts may be granted for one year with suitable conditions of the Board, please.
