The project proponent was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/SAS/2019/10215758 dated 22.08.2019, valid till 31.03.2024 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/SAS/2020/12540706 dated 28.07.2020, valid till 31.03.2024 for manufacturing of CI Casting Iron @ 6500 MT/Year with suitable conditions.
Now, the project proponent has applied for renewal consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for manufacturing of CI Casting Iron @ 6500 MT/Year along with requisite documents.
The project proponent has submitted CA certificate with the value of fixed assets of Rs. 12.34 crore as on 29.02.2024. The project proponent has deposited Rs. 1,80,000/- vide R no. 158625441 dated 27.03.2024 under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs. 1,94,900/- vide R no. 734516399 dated 27.03.2024 under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. After deduction of NOC regularization fee, the consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 are adequate till 31.03.2029.
The project proponent has submitted analysis report of stack emission of Furnace and Shot blasting and the sample was collected by M/s Eco Paryavaran Laboratories & Consultants Pvt. Ltd. on 23.03.2024 as under:
Furnace Stack (1TPH + 1TPH)
Particulate Matter – 86 mg/Nm3, Sulphur Dioxide – BDL and NOX – 36 mg/Nm3.
Shot Blasting Stack
Particulate Matter – 18 mg/Nm3
The results are within the prescribed limit of the Board.
The project proponent has submitted compliance report of the previous consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 granted to it.
The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 04.04.2024 and it was observed as under:
1. The industry was engaged in the business of manufacturing of Cast Iron Castings. The manufacturing process involved is as under :
Raw Material feeding Melting Moulding Shot Blasting For Dispatch.
2. The industry has installed 1 no induction furnace having two crucible of capacity of 1 TPH each. The induction furnace is provided with wet scrubber as APCD and stack of adequate height.
3. The industry has also provided one no. shot blast machine, which is provided with bag filter as APCD and stack of adequate height.
4. The industry has installed 2 no. mould making plants and 4 no. core making machines.
5. The industry does not generate any trade effluent and domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.
6. The industry has dismantled its, earlier installed cupola furnace installed there.
The industry is complying with the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
In view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 31.03.2029 with suitable conditions.
