It is intimated that the project proponent was granted consent to operate under Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/SAS/2023/21054861 dated 26.02.2023, valid till 31.12.2025 and under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/SAS/2023/22478806 dated 14.08.2023, valid till 31.03.2024 for operating an institute ( Phase-I & Phase-II comprises existing blocks i.e. Administration, Academic Block, Recreation, Conference, Faculty Housing, Bachelor Housing, etc.) in an area of 70 acres having built up area @ 81,733.816 sqm.
Now, the project proponent has applied for renewal of CTO under Water Act, 1974 for operating an institute ( Phase-I & Phase-II comprises existing blocks i.e. Administration, Academic Block, Recreation, Conference, Faculty Housing, Bachelor Housing, etc.) in an area of 70 acres having built up area @ 81,733.816 sqm.
The project proponent has submitted CA Certificate with the value of fixed assets of Rs. 289.71 crore as on 31.03.2023. Earlier, the project proponent has deposited Rs. 8,46,000/- vide UTR no. KKBKR22023020107737468 dated 01.02.2023 under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs. 10800/- vide UTR no. 000146079276 dated 26.03.2024 as NOC regularization fees, and the fee adequate till 25.03.2026 under Water Act, 1974.
The project proponent has submitted compliance report of the previous consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 granted to it.
The site was visited by AEE of this office on 04.04.2024. During visit it was observed as under:
1. The institute is engaged in the business of providing MBA courses to the students.
2. The institute have installed STP consisting of following components:
Collection tank – Screen Bar – Equalization tank (27 m3) – Aeration tank I, II & III (120 m3 each, presently aeration I & II are brought into operation) – Tube settler I, II & III (36.5 m3 each, presently Tube settler I & II are brought into operation) – Chlorine contact tank (37.5 m3) – Pressure sand filter – Activated carbon filter – Treated water tank I & II (94 m3 each) – Ultra filtration.
3. During visit the STP was in operation. The treated water is used for plantation purposes after activated carbon filter and for flushing activities after ultra-filtration.
4. As per the record being maintained by the institute about 95 KL effluent has been treated daily in the STP and the same is being utilized for flushing purpose @ 2 KLD and the rest is discharged onto land for plantation (48.703 acre).
5. The institute has submitted an undertaking to the effect that it will not discharged any effluent treated/ untreated into the GMADA sewer at any time and will utilize the same within the premises only.
6. The institute has installed 2 no. DG sets of capacity 1010 KVA each, 1x 750 KVA, 1 no. is 500 KVA, which are equipped with canopies and stacks of adequate heights.
7. The institute has constructed eight number of rain water harvesting pits to recharge the ground water with roof top rain water.
In view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted to the institute upto 31.03.2025 with suitable conditions.
