It is intimated that the above said industry is a small scale Red category existing unit.
• Earlier, the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/KPR/2019/10693803 dated 26.08.2019, valid upto 30.09.2023 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Fresh/KPR/2019/10693168 dated 26.08.2019, valid upto 30.09.2023 for manufacturing of Hand Tools, Auto Parts, light Engg. Goods @10000 Numbers/Day using Nickle @ 5 Kgs/day & Steel (Alloys & Non Alloys) @ 12 Metric Tonnes/Day as raw material and discharge of trade effluent @ 2500 ltrs/day.
• Now, the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for manufacturing of Hand Tools, Auto Parts, light Engg. Goods @12000 Numbers/Day using Nickle @ 5 Kgs/day & Steel (Alloys & Non Alloys) @ 15 Metric Tonnes/Day and discharge of trade effluent @ 5000 ltrs/day.
• The industry has deposited Rs 54000/- vide UTR number CBINH23226902599 dated 14.08.2023 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs 54000/- vide UTR number 14.08.2023 under Air Act, 1981, adequate upto 20.05.2029.
The industry was visited by EE alongwith AEE of this office on 01.04.2024 and observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during visit.
2. The industry has made agreement with the M/s JBR technology for lifting trade effluent @ 5000 ltr/month.
3. The industry has increased its production by increasing working hours.
4. The industry has installed 3 no. underground tanks of capacity 2000 ltrs each for the storage of trade effluent.
5. The industry has installed water meter for plating section. Reading of which was 229.037 KL on 31.03.2024 and it was 194.103 KL on 01.07.2023 Thus, water consumed = 229.037 – 194.103 = 34.934 KL. Effluent lifted in this period = 27.5 KLD. Effluent in store during visit around 4000 ltrs. The industry is properly getting its effluent lifted.
6. The industry has been geotagged by CETP operator.
7. The water used in vibrator section is recirculated after settling tanks.
8. The industry has also installed 18 no. electric heating furnaces and 7 no. Forging presses.
9. The industry has also installed 1 no. LPG fired Hardening furnace with adequate stack height.
10. The industry has installed 1 no. D.G set of capacity 125 KVA and 1 no. D.G set of capacity 500 KVA. Each D.G set is provided with canopy and attached to stack of adequate height.
11. The industry is located in Industrial area, Phagwara and as such extension is allowed
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that varied consents to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2028 with usual conditions as per policy of the Board.
