File Note: • It is intimated that the industry is a large scale unit and engaged in the process of milk products by processing milk at site. • Earlier, the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/JAL/2019/10748792 dated 10.09.2019 valid upto 31.03.2024 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Varied/JAL/2019/10748741 dated 10.09.2019 valid upto 31.03.2024 for production of MILK PRODUCTS LIKE POWDER, GHEE, DAHI & PANEER @ 110 Kilo ltr/day using whole milk @ 110 kilo/liters day as raw material and discharge of trade effluent @ 200 KLD. • Now, the industry has applied for varied consent to operate under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for production of MILK PRODUCTS LIKE POWDER, GHEE, DAHI & PANEER @ 115 Kilo ltr/day using whole milk @ 115 kilo/liters day as raw material and discharge of trade effluent @ 200 KLD. • The industry has deposited Rs. 282000/- vide R.No. 540615945 dated 19.03.2024 under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Rs. 282000/- vide R.No. 888123551 dated 19.03.2024 under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and Rs. 14400/- vide R.No. 540615945 dated 19.03.2024 as NOC fee, adequate upto 31.03.2029. • The industry was visited on 03.04.2023 & observed as under:- 1. The industry was in operation during the visit. 2. The industry has installed ETP of capacity consisting of screening → oil & grease trap → collection tank → anaerobic reactor (1no.) → MBBR reactor (1 no.) → aeration tank (1 no.) → tube settler (1 no.) → treated effluent storage tank → sand filter → carbon filter and sludge drying beds and same was in operation. 3. Treated trade effluent was being discharged into sewer. 4. Treated trade effluent samples collected on 23.10.2023 and as per analysis report all parameters were with prescribed limit of the Board. 5. OCEMS is installed at ETP outlet and it is connected to Board’s website. 6. The industry has installed boiler of capacity 08 TPH and 05 TPH with trima cyclones as APCD. Wood is used as fuel. Only one boiler of capacity 05 TPH was in operation during the visit and clear emissions were observed. 7. Emission samples were collected on 23.10.2023 and SPM levels were within prescribed limits of the Board. 8. The industry has increased production by increasing working hours. 9. The industry falls in designated Industrial area i.e Sport & Surgical Complex, Jalandhar. • In view of above, it recommended that varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2029 with suitable conditions.
