Sir, the industry was granted consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 valid upto 31/03/2024 for manufacturing of Cotton/Polyester yarn @ 36.250 MTD & Cotton/Polyester yarn @ 7 MTD with special condition that the industry shall submit analysis report of ambient air emissions, within one month.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining renewal of consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981.
RO reported that the industry was visited on 19.03.2024 and during visit, ambient air sampling was conducted by Board’s lab and as per analysis report, PM10 is reported as 316 ug/m3 near main gate (direction from which wind is blowing) and 335 ug/m3 near store (direction towards which wind is blowing). The contribution of PM10 is 19 ug/m3 (i.e. 6 %) is significant, from which, it is very clear that either the industry has installed rotary filters of insufficient capacity or it is required to clean its rotary filters immediately.
In view of report of RO, it is recommended that show cause notice for refusal of 'consent to operate' under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry with an opportunity of personal hearing before the CEE , please.
