1. It is intimated that the industry is a small scale orange category Rice sheller unit.
2. Earlier, the rice sheller was granted consent to establish/NOC under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTE/Fresh/KPR/2023/21782659 dated 26.04.2023 valid upto 25.04.2024 for production of Raw Rice with dryer @ 05 TPH & Sorted Rice @ 05 TPH with Paddy @ 7.5 TPH & unsorted Rice @ 05 TPH as raw material with suitable conditions mentioned therein.
3. Now the rice sheller has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS of the Board.
4. The rice sheller has deposited Rs. 108000/- vide UTR no 431645096 dated 06.04.2024 under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs. 108000/- vide UTR no 113391264 dated 09.04.2024 under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, adequate upto 31.12.2033.
5. To verify the facts, the rice sheller was visited by EE alongwith AEE of this office on 09.04.2024 & observed that:-
1. The site is located in the revenue estate of VILLAGE SHERPUR SADHA, TEHSIL SULTANPUR LODHI, DISTT KAPURTHALA.
2. The sheller as well as drier has been installed.
3. Cyclones have been provided as APCD.
4. The movement area has been stabilized.
5. Septic tank is provided for treatment of domestic effluent.
6. Plantation is provided along boundary wall.
7. Sheets are provided in husk area.
8. The rice sheller is complying with code of practice.
Recommendations:-
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the rice sheller upto 30.09.2033 with suitable condition.
