As the matter was discussed with CEE sir, earlier the industry was given personal hearing before the Chairman of the Board on 12.01.2024 for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act,1974 in which it was decided that:- 1. Consent to operate under the Water Act,1974 may be granted to the industry upto 31.03.2024 subject to usual conditions. 2. Environmental Engineer,RO-4,Ludhiana shall visit to carry out re-sampling and submit report/recommendations accordingly.
Now, the industry was again visited by an officer of the Board on 22/2/24 to verify the compliance with CTO under the Water Act,1974 special condition and reported that the untreated dyeing effluent samples from the industry were collected and as per the analysis report ph=9.5 and TDS= 6031 mg/l. The concentration of TDS parameters are both times found to be beyond on the higher side as per the inlet-designed parameters of the CETP, which may affect its overall performance.
It is further submitted that earlier during hearing the industry has submitted an undertaking in which it was mentioned that the industry shall install pretreatment for TDS parameter, if the industry has failed to achieve prescribed TDS parameter, as per the inlet design parameters of the CETP.
In view of above, if apporved, show cause notice for refusal consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 may be issued to the industry with personal hearing before the Chairman of the Board. |
