It is submitted that the BKO was visited on 16.04.2024 to verify the compliance and observed that a proper hand ladder has been provided upto the platform. Further, the excessive loose dust accumulated on the movement area has been removed by the BKO.
In view of above, it is recommended that the show cause issued to the BKO under the Air Act, 1981 may be dropped and consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 may be granted to the BKO upto 30.06.2029 subject to the suitable conditions and following special conditions: I. The kiln shall submit the extended lease deed before its expiry. II. The kiln shall use biomass pellet as a fuel as 20% replacement of the coal used by the kiln in compliance of Govt of Punjab, Department of Science, Technology and Environment notification no. 10/574/2022-STE1/442 dated 04.11.2022. III. This consent is granted subject to the orders passed by the Hon'ble High Court for the States of Punjab & Haryana/ Hon'ble National Green Tribunal or Other Judicial Authority in the case spending or being filed with regard to the operation of brick kilns in the State. IV. The BKO will obtain Environmental Clearance under EIA notification for mining of brick clay to be used as raw material for the manufacture of bricks and submit the same, within two months. V. The industry shall comply with code of practice for brick kiln and shall achieve the prescribed standard notified by MOEF&CC. VI. The industry shall not generate/ discharge any trade effluent and shall discharge only domestic effluent onto land for plantation after passing through septic tank. VII. The industry shall not use agro waste / bio-mass residue (like tura, gauwara crop, mustard straw, almond/peanut peels and press mud from sugar industry) ‘in loose form’ till a proper study is conducted orsome-mechanism is developed by the technical providers for utilizing the same in loose form for zig-zag based induced draft brick kilns. |
