The report of the Regional Office has been examined and RO is to be clarified as under:
1. Earlier the consents were granted to the industry for manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients 368.5 MT/year i.e. at 50% of its full capacity.However, now,the industry has applied for consents at full capacity i.e to manufacture Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients @ 737.25 MT/year( applied renewal instead of varied). However, RO in its report, has not given the details whether the report of IIT Ropar allows to consider the application of the industry at full load.
2. RO is required to clearly mention the violations of the industry under Water Act, 1974 against whom it has recommended to initiate action u/s 33-A of the Water Act,1974.
In view of the above, EE RO Roopnagar may be asked to reply the above mentioned observations immediately as that further action may be taken accordingly.
