Sir, the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 valid upto 31/03/2024 for the manufacturing of Steel forgings, machining (Harvester combine parts) @ 08 MTD. Now, the subject cited industry has applied for obtaining renewal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 with requisite documents.
The industry was visited by RO on 18.04.2024 and it was observed as under:
1. It is engaged in manufacturing of Steel Forgings, Machining (Harvester Combine Parts) @ 8 MTD by using raw material as Steel rounds/Billets @ 1508.189 MT/year & Paint @ 0.3 KLD.
2. The industry has installed 2 no. Oil fired forging Furnaces of capacity 0.7 TPD with adequate stack heights. 3. It has also installed 5 no. Induction Billet heaters, 6 no. Shot Blast machines with inbuilt bag house filters as APCD, 2 no. Paint booths with water curtains as APCD. 2 no. Powder coating with cyclone as APCDs and 2 no. electric Baking Ovens.
4. There is no generation of trade effluent. The cooling water is being re-circulated through cooling towers and domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
5. The industry has installed 5 DG sets of capacity 500 KVA, 380 KVA, 380 KVA, 50 KVA & 20 KVA with canopies & adequate stack heights.
6. There is no increase in production capacity as well as pollution load due to increase in fixed assets. In the subject cited case, the industry has mentioned ground water extraction @ 12 KLD and it has submitted that ground water extraction is less than 300 KL/month. Therefore, the industry is not required to obtain permission for ground water extraction from PWRDA.
RO recommended that 'consent to operate' under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 31/03/2029 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
In view of above it is recommended that 'consent to operate' under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 31/03/2029 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board.
