Sir, vide note dated 05.03.2024 it was recommended that:- 1. Consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be further renewed for a period of six months. 2. Directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued for restoration of electric connection for six months.
The industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 with hearing before the CEE, Ludhiana on 18.04.2024, wherein it was decided as under:
1. The complainant was apprised that he is free to make complaint again, if any air pollution is noticed from the industry in future
2. Consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 be granted as per adequacy of deposited consent fee.
3. The Environmental Engineer, Regional Office-1, Ludhiana is requested to keep regular vigil on the industry to ensure that the industry comply with the provisions of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
Accordingly, consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 has been approved by Competent Authority.
In view of the above, it is recommended that directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued for restoration of electric connection for six months, please.
