As per the report of the Regional Office, the industry is still violating the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 and HOWM Rules, 2016.
As such, in view of the recommendations of EE RO Roopnagar, the following actions may be taken:
1. Show cause notice for refusal of the 'consent to operate' under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry alongwith opportunity of personal hearing before the Chairman of the Board.
2.Notice to issue directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry with an opportunity of personal hearing before the Chairman of the Board.
