Sir the industry was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 both valid upto 30/06/2025 for the manufacturing of Rim @ 200 Nos/day & Fork @ 40 nos/day.
Now, the industry has applied for ‘consent to establish'/ (NOC expansion) under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 for increased production of Rim @ 200 Nos/day to 500 Nos/day & Fork @ 40 nos/day to 250 nos/day and addition of 2 products i.e. Fork Hanger @ 3000 nos/day and Bicycle Handles @ 3000 nos/day.
The industry was visited by RO on 21.03.2024 and it was reported as under:
1. The industry was in operation during visit & engaged in manufacturing of rim & fork. It is engaged in the phosphating process.
2. The industry has enhanced the agreement with CETP from 7000 ltr/month to 20000 ltr/month on 01.09.2023
3. The domestic effluent @ 5 KLD of the industry is being discharged into sewer.
4. The industry has lastly lifted its trade effluent @ 10000 ltr vide no. 505313 dated 13.03.2024.
5. The industry has installed water meter on the pipeline for conveyance of fresh water to be used in wet process, reading of which was 1842.51 KL.
6. The industry is maintaining record w.r.t. fresh water consumption for the wet process & effluent lifted to M/s JBR Tech. Pvt Ltd. The record of last 6 months is reproduced below: Water Consumed in Process / Effluent Generated (As per record maintained by the industry) Effluent lifted by CETP Operator (During Verification Period) Storage Cap. Qty. lying stored at the time of visit Last Lifting (Qty. & Date) Avg. frequency of lifting MOU signed for qty. Initial WMR as on 01.10.2023: 1725.53 KL Final WMR as on 21.03.2024: 1842.51 KL Water consumed: 116.98 KL 110 KL 10000 ltr. 1500 ltr 10000 ltr. on 13.03.2024 7 days 20000 ltr. As per the record the quantity of water consumed for wet process is in consonance with the quantity of effluent lifted to JBR Tech. Pvt. Ltd.
7. The industry has installed one powder coating booth within built dust collector with electricity run baking oven.
8. The industry has installed two DG sets of capacity 125 KVA & 320 KVA with canopy and adequate stack heights.
9. The industry has already submitted the building plan approved from competent person under Director of Factories, Punjab.
10. The industry is complying with the provisions of previous consents grant to it under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
11. The industry is located in Industrial zone as per Master Plan (2010-2031) of Ludhiana.
In view of the above, it is recommended that ‘consent to establish'/ (NOC expansion) under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted for one year with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board, please.
