It is submitted that notice to issue directions u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 as amended in 1987 and u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 as amended in 1988 was issued to project proponent with an opportunity of personal hearing before Chief Environmental Engineer, Ludhiana on 18.04.2024.
After hearing, the owner of the marriage palace and officers of the Board, the Chief Environmental Engineer of the Board decided as under:
1. Consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 be granted upto 31.03.2025 with special condition that the marriage palace shall submit the CLU certificate from the concerned department, within one month.
2. The marriage palace shall follow up with concerned department for early release of CLU.
3. It was made clear to the marriage palace to be careful in future and if the marriage palace is found violating under the provisions of Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 in future, then strict action may be taken against the marriage palace, without any further notice/opportunity of hearing.
In view of hearing decision no 01, if approved, Consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 be granted upto 31.03.2025 with special condition that the marriage palace shall submit the CLU certificate from the concerned department, within one month.
