It is intimated that the industry is a small-scale orange category unit and earlier granted consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/LDH4/2017/5697314 dated 05.07.2017 and Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Fresh/LDH4/2017/5697363 dated 05.07.2017, which were valid upto 31.12.2017 is engaged in manufacturing Forgings of auto Mobile/tractor parts, agriculture Machinery parts, Power transmission line parts @ 5 T/day Raw material Steel Round & Bars @ 6.0 T/day.
Now, the industry has applied for fresh Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS. The industry has deposited fee amounting to Rs. 100800/-vide R. No. 596379905 dated 23.04.2024 under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs. 109200/- vide R.no 521021551 dated 23.04.2024 under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, which is adequate upto 30.06.2028 (after deducting NOC and late penalty fee).
The industry was visited by the officer of this office on 01.04.2024 and it was observed as under: -
1. The industry was in operation during the visit and is engaged in forging of auto parts.
2. The industry has installed 02 no. oil fired furnace with hood and adequate stack height.
3. The industry has also installed 01 no. shot blast machine with in house bag filter as APCD provided with adequate stack height.
4. The industry has installed 02 forging hammer of capacity 1.0 Ton and 1.5 Ton and other allied machines such as power presses, cutting machines etc.
5. There is no source of trade effluent and only domestic effluent is discharged into sewer.
6. The industry has submitted approved building plan from competent person approved by the Director of factories, Punjab
7. The industry has installed 01 no. D.G. set of capacity 65 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.
8. The industry is complying with the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
The industry is complying with the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 of the Board.
In view of the above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry up to 30.06.2028 with general conditions.
