Sir, it is submitted that the establishment was issued show cause notice by SEIAA, Punjab to suspend the Environmental Clearance granted to the project and to issue directions u/s 5 of EPA Act, 1986 alongwith opportunity of personal hearing before Chairman, SEIAA on 03.01.2024. Thereafter, another show cause notice was issued to the establishment vide SEIAA letter no. MS-987 dated 05.03.2024. (Copies enclosed).
It is pertinent to mention here that as per the show cause notice, the project proponent was asked to submit compliance against 17 points mentioned in the notice including the matter regarding providing adequate green area and year wise action plan for implementing EMP and detail of expenditure done on different activities.
Now, SEIAA Punjab vide its letter no. 110 dated 15.04.2024 has issued Corrigendum in Environmental Clearance under EIA notification dated 14.09.2006 for the establishment of warehouse project at NH-1, Village Ghaggar Sarai, Tehsil Rajpura, District Patiala, Punjab regarding amendment in the condition no. XIll(iv) for change of spending of Rs. 13 lakh on street light instead of rejuvenation of village pond
However, as earlier directed by the Competent Authority of the Board, the project proponent has not concluded the matter pending with SEIAA and is yet to comply with the conditions of the Environment clearance obtained by it including the amount to be spent under its CER activities and providing adequate green area etc.
Therefore, the PP is not complying with the directions of the Competent Authority of the Board.
