The industry is a small scale green category unit and was visited by the officers of the Board on 23/09/2022 and found manufacturing the carry bags of non-woven & BoPP. Accordingly, the directions were issued against the industry and PSPCL authorities were directed to disconnect electric connection of the industry. The industry was directed to deposit Environmental Compensation amounting to Rs. 2 lac. The PSPCL vide TDCO No. 501/29 dated 14/11/2022 disconnected the electric connection.
Afterwards the industry deposited the EC and applied for consents and restoration .Accordingly the industry was granted Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Fresh/LDH1/2023/20769622 dated 13.4.2023 valid upto 30.6.2023 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Fresh/LDH1/2023/20769618 dated 13.4.2023 valid upto 30.6.2023 under Green Category and the Competent Authority of the Board issued directions u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide letter no. 1572-73 dated 15.01.2021 to restore of electric connection of the industry temporarily upto 30.06.2023.
Thereafter the industry applied for further restoration of electric connection along with consent to operate under under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 and accordingly consents were granted upto 10-02-2024 and 31.12.2025 respectively. The connection was also restored upto 10.02.2024. Now after the restoration period PSPCL authorities disconnected electric connection of the industry.
The industry has now applied for renewal Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 along with requisite documents and fees under Green Category already submitted by the industry, which is adequate upto 31.12.2025. The industry has also submitted the DTP letter vide letter no. 22 dated 26.6.2023, as per said certificate the site falls in mix land use and green category industry are permissible at said location.
The industry has already submitted Rs 2 Lac Environmental Compensation vide R.No. 57/5451 dated 04/11/2022 in this office.
The industry was visited by officer of this office on 2.05.2024 during the visit to the area and it was observed that the industry was not in operation due to non-availability of electricity. The industry has earlier consent to operate for manufacturing of printed and Plain Packaging Sheets for manufacturing Of Ladies Suits and Blanket Bags. There is no source of trade effluent/air pollution inside the industry and domestic effluent is discharged into MC sewer. The industry has installed Environmental Data Board outside the industry.
In view of above, if approved,
1. Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 31/12/2025 subject to suitable conditions.
2. Directions issued against the industry may be dropped and electricity connection of the industry may be restored permanently, after getting the approval of the Competent Authority of the Board, please as industry found compliant during all previous visits.
