Sir, the industry is a medium scale orange category unit & engaged in the manufacturing of measuring tape & auto & engineering parts. The industry was earlier granted Consents dated 29.06.2019 valid upto 31.03.2024 for manufacturing of Measuring Tape @ 30000 Numbers/Day, Auto & Engineering Parts @ 10 Metric Tonnes/Day.
Thereafter, the industry has applied for Consent to Establish (NOC for expansion) under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 and the same was granted upto 18.04.2025 for Measuring Tape @ 30000 Numbers/Day, Auto & Engineering Parts @ 25 Metric Tonnes/Day.
Now, the industry applied for varied 'Consent to Operate' under Water (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, 1974 & Air (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, 1981 for manufacturing of Measuring Tape @ 30000 Nos./day & Auto & Engineering parts @ 25 MT/day.
The industry has already deposited consent fee adequate upto 30.09.2029.
The industry was visited by RO on 09.05.2024 and it was reported that:- 1. The industry was in operation during visit and manufacturing auto parts & measuring tape. 2. The representative of the industry informed that there is no increase in quantum of air pollution and generation of domestic effluent. The increase in assets is only due to replacement of some machinery with higher capacity machinery. 3. The industry has installed 02 nos. Forging press with electric billet heater. The industry has also installed general machinery like CNC, Lathe, Drill etc. 4. The industry has installed 02 electric heat treatment furnaces with adequate stack height. The industry has installed 01 shot blast machine with inbuilt bag house filter as APCD along with adequate stack height. 5. The industry has installed 02 nos. D.G sets with canopy & adequate stack height. 6. There is no generation of trade effluent. The industry has installed STP for treatment of its domestic effluent. The treated effluent is discharged onto land for planation. 7. The industry has already submitted approved building plan from Architect approved by Director of Factories, Punjab. 8. The industry is complying with the conditions of consents granted under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
In view of the above it is recommended that the consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to industry upto 30.09.2029 with suitable terms and conditions, please.
