Note of AEE dated 18/5/2024 may kindly perused, wherein, it has been mentioned that the industry is not manufacturing ingots/billets as manufactured by other induction furnaces.
The industry is using good quality scrap to manufacture finished products i.e. metal rolls to be supplied to the steel re-rolling units.
However, the industry has been advised to approach PSCST for control of secondary emission and submit its proposal/ feasibility report within one month.
In view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2029 with subject to suitable conditions and special conditions that: 1. The industry shall submit the proposal/ feasibility report regarding control of Secondary Emissions generated from the process within one month after consultation with the PSCST, Chandigarh.
2. The industry will comply with the SOP’s for such type of units as recommended by PSCST, Chandigarh.
3. The industry shall apply for obtaining authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016, within one month.
