File Note: Earlier, the industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Varied/SAS/2020/12090892 dated 09.03.2020 and under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Varied/SAS/2020/12090570 dated 09.03.2020, both having validityupto31.03.2024 for manufacturing of CI Casting @ 36 MTD by using MS Scrap and Pig Iron @ 45 MTD as raw material in the name and style of M/s Godawri Spherocast Limited with subject to suitable conditions and special conditions mentioned therein. Now, the industry has changed its name and has applied for obtaining varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention &Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981in the name and style of M/s Godawri Spherocast Pvt. Limited for same production capacity and raw material along with requisite documents and fee. As per record file of the industry the previous consent fee is adequate upto 22.02.2025 under both acts, against the total cost of fixed assets is Rs. 18.19 crores. Now, the industry has deposited Rs. 2,50,920/- vide UTR. No. KKBKR52024042500730309 dated 25.04.2024 (Rs. 2,46,000/- under Water Act, 1974 & Rs. 4,920/- as Penalty/late fee) and Rs. 2,50,920/- vide UTR. No. KKBKR52024042500729284 dated 25.04.2024 (Rs. 2,46,000/- under Air Act, 1981 & Rs. 4,920/- as Penalty/late fee) and Rs. 36,500/- vide UTR. No. KKBKH24116727712 dated 25.04.2024 as NOC regularization fee for increase its assets including application form fee, against the fixed assets of Rs. 22.63 crores as on 27.04.2024. The consent fee deposited by the industry is adequate upto 22.02.2030 under both acts. The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 18.05.2024 and it was observed as under: - 1. The industry was in operation and engaged in the business of manufacturing CI casting by using pig iron, CI scrap and MS etc as raw material. 2. The industry has installed 02 no. induction furnace of capacity 500 Kg/ heat and 1000 kg/heat. 3. The industry has provided hood on the furnace as per the design of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology. The industry has provided spark arrestor followed by bag filter house as APCD along with stack and proper sampling arrangement. 4. The industry has submitted furnaces analysis reports from NABL lab collected on dated 11.05.2024 and results are as under: - Sr. No. Parameter Results Limits 1. The industry has installed 03 no. core making machine and 03 no. mold machine. 6. The industry has installed 01 no. sand reclamation plant for processing of spent sand, which is further reuse for manufacturing of core. 7. The industry has provided dust collector as APCD to control air emission. 8. The industry has installed 01 no. core drying oven and using diesel as fuel and along with stack of adequate height. 9. The industry has submitted oven furnaces emission analysis report from NABL lab collected on dated 11.05.2024 and results are as under: - Sr. No. Parameter Results Limits 1. The industry has installed 01 no. shot blasting machine and provided bag filter house as APCD along with stack of adequate height. 11. The industry has submitted shot blasting emission analysis report from NABL lab collected on dated 11.05.2024 and results are as under: - Sr. No. Parameter Results Limits 1. Particulate Matter mg/Nm3 56.1 150 As per analysis results parameter are found within the prescribed limit of the Board. 12. The industry has installed 02 no. DG sets of capacity 590 KVA & 250 KVA, both are equipped with canopy and stack of adequate height. 13. There is no generation of trade effluent. The industry has provided septic tank for treatment of domestic effluent and the treated domestic effluent is being utilized onto land for plantation. In the view of above, it is recommended that the consent to operate under the Water (Prevention &Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2028 with subject to suitable conditions and special conditions that: - 1. The industry shall operate its APCD regularly and efficiently and shall submit air emission analysis results from Board’s lab within one month. 2. The industry shall not discharge any effluent at any unauthorized place by any unauthorized means i.e. shall not discharge any wastewater in any drain / inland surface waters / drain/choe/nallah/ onto land for stagnation or outside its premises, at any time, under any circumstances. 3. The industry shall apply for obtaining authorization under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016, within one month. 4. The industry has been approved by the Board from pollution angle and the industry shall obtain the statutory clearances / permissions from all other concerned departments. 5. The adequacy/ efficacy of the pollution control arrangements shall be the sole responsibility of the industry and the industry shall be bound to implement/ upgrade its pollution control arrangements as per the discretion of the Board to achieve the prescribed emission/ effluent standards, as amended from time to time. 6. The industry shall ensure the compliance of provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and/or any other environmental law applicable to him and Rules, Circulars & Directions issued by the Board from time to time. 7. The industry shall ensure that the activity of unit does not create any nuisance in the surrounding areas and no public complaints are received. 8. The Consent is being issued to the industry based upon the documents/ information submitted by it along with the online application form. The Board would be at liberty to take penal action against the industry and its responsible/ concerned person(s) in case information/document is detected as incorrect/false/misleading at any point of time. 9. In case the industry fails to comply with the provisions of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and/or any other environmental law applicable to the project and Rules, Circulars & Directions issued by the Board from time to time, action as deemed fit shall be taken against the industry.
