Sir, it is submitted that industry was issued Show Cause Notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 with hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office-I, Ludhiana on 15.05.2024 in which following decisions were taken: - 1. The industry shall get its trade effluent lifted to CETP operator/ re-processor, regularly. 2. The industry shall maintain the record of water consumption in the process and trade effluent got lifted to CETP operator / re-processor. 3. The industry shall discharge domestic effluent onto land for plantation, if any. 4. The Environmental Engineer, Regional Office shall verify the submissions made by the industry and submit further recommendations accordingly.
To verify the compliance of the decisions of personal hearing, the industry was visited by RO on 20.05.2024 and the point-wise compliance of the decisions of personal hearing is reported as under: - 1. The trade effluent of the industry is being lifted by the CETP operator/ re-processor on regular intervals. 2. The industry is maintaining the record of water consumption in the process area and trade effluent lifted by CETP operator / re-processor. As per record maintained by the industry the O/B of the effluent in tank was 3.90 KL as on 27.04.2024. It has consumed 8.36 KL fresh water in its process area and 4.7 KL effluent has been lifted by the CETP/ re-processor for the period 27.04.2024 to 20.05.2024 and about 7.1 KL was lying stored in storage tank, which is in synchronized with water consumption 3. The industry has not constructed any bath room/toilet, hence there is no generation of domestic effluent.
In view of the above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted to the industry upto 30.06.2028 as proposed by RO, please. (Category - Red, Small) (Competency -SEE)
