Sir, it is submitted that industry was issued show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981 with opportunity of show cause in writing within 07 days.
RO reported that the industry has submitted the reply of show cause notice as under:- 1. That the industry has installed 1 Copula Furnace of capacity < 3 Ton/hr capacity to whom APCD has been installed as per design & drawing of Punjab State Council for Science, Technology and Environment and Completion Certificate issued by PSCST on 25.04.2024 has also been submitted with the consent application forms. 2. The industry has installed 2 Shot Blast Machines with Bag House filters as APCD with required stack height. 3. The industry has installed a induction furnace of capacity 300 kg/heat and same has not been started yet. Industry is in touch with the Punjab State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, Chandigarh for getting the design & Drawing of APCD for the induction furnace. The industry will not operate the induction furnace without installing the APCD and without getting the consents of the Board. 4. That industry has no objection if the department seals its induction furnace.
In view of the above, it is recommended that: -
1. Consent to operate under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry for six months.
2. Directions u/s 31-A of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be issued for restoration of electric connection of the industry temporally for six months, please.
3. Orders to seal the Induction furnace installed by the industry without APCD may please be issued.
