• The industry is a small scale red category unit.
• The industry was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 valid upto 20.09.2023 for manufacturing of Steel Wire Products @ 500 Kgs/day by using Iron wire coils ,G.I Wire, HB wire and chemicals for electroplating @ 500 Kgs/day as raw material and an agreement with M/s JBR Technology Ludhiana @7500 ltr/month.
• Now, the industry has applied Varied for consent to operate under Water (Prevention &Control of Pollution) Act 1974 through OCMMS of the Board for manufacturing of Steel Wire Products @ 250 Kgs/day by using Iron wire coils ,G.I Wire, HB wire and chemicals for electroplating @ 250 Kgs/day as raw material and a revised agreement with M/s JBR Technology, CETP 260-261, Phase-VIII, Focal Point, Ludhiana @4000 ltr/month and detail of the same is as under:-
1. Earlier the industry has deposited Rs. 28977/- Vide UTR No. 206423777 Dated 31.07.2022 . Now the industry has deposit Rs. 38300/-(i.e. Rs. 32400/- under Water Act, 1974, Rs. 5400/- penalty, Rs.500/- form fee) Vide UTR No. 827400223 Dated 02.04.2024 under Water Act, 1974 against the fixed assets of Rs. 68.27 lacs, which are adequate upto 30.06.2033.
2. The industry has submitted approved building plan from competent person under factories act Punjab.
3. The industry has submitted registry of the land, manufacturing process and compliance report of previous granted consent under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
4. The industry has made an agreement with M/s JBR Technology, Ludhiana @ 4000 ltr/month.
• The industry was visited by AEE of this office on 22.05.2024 and it was observed that the industry was in operation during visit and is engaged in manufacturing of Steel Wire Products.
• The industry has installed electroplating unit.
• The industry has constructed one collection tank of capacity 3000 ltr and one plastic tank of capacity @1000 ltr for storage of its trade effluent generated at site. The industry has stored approx. 570 ltr in the storage tank during visit.
• The industry has installed water meter on pipe line for fresh water is consumed in process and water meter reading was noted 0305.03 KL during visit.
• The fresh water consumed 4670 ltr, Sulphuric Acid @ 80 ltr, HCL @ 360 ltr, digital water @ 1995 and open balance @ 540 ltr (Total 7645 ltr) in process area and has got effluent lifted to CETP operator of 7000 ltr during period from Jan/2024 to 22.05.2024 which was found in order. The industry is maintaining the record of fresh water consumption as well as lifted by CETP operator on daily basis.
• The industry is small scale red category unit and the competency of case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Jalandhar.
Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that varied consent to operate under Water (Prevention &Control of Pollution) Act 1974 may be granted upto 30.06.2029 with usual conditions.
