It is intimated that the industry is a small scale red category electroplating unit.
The industry was a visited by AEE of this office and violations were observed. Accordingly, the case was considered by the Competent Authority of the Board and directions u/s 33-A of Water Act, 1974 were issued to the industry for disconnection of electric supply.
Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974. The electricity connection has been disconnected vide TDCO number 188 dated 23.05.2024. The industry has submitted approved building plan from architect approved by Director of Factories, Punjab. The industry has rent deed as a proof of date of commissioning. The industry falls in Industrial zone as per khasra number mentioned in the gazzete notification.
The site of industry was visited by the AEE/JEE of this office on 23.05.2024 and it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was not in operation during visit due to disconnection of electric supply.
2. The industry has signed agreement with M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Focal Point, Ludhiana @ 4500 Ltr/M for the treatment & disposal of trade effluent generated from electroplating process.
3. The industry has installed water meter at pipeline from where fresh water is consumed in process.
4. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.
5. The industry has provided storage tank of capacity 4000 Ltr and approx. 1000 Ltr of effluent was lying in storage tank as observed during the visit
6. Domestic effluent is being discharged into sewer.
7. The industry has submitted building plan from architect approved by Director of Factory, Pb.
8. The industry is complying with the provisions under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be granted for a short period of six months and direction u/s 33-A of Water Act, 1974 may be issued for restoration of electric supply for a period of six months.
