• The industry is a small scale red category electroplating unit.
• The industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS of the Board for process of electroplating on job basis @ 300 kgs/Day by using Caustic Soad @ 1 Kgs/day, Nickle Sulphate @ 1.5 Kgs/day, Sulphuric Acid @ 0.1 Kgs/day, Nickle Salt @ 1 Kgs/day, Brightner @ 0.5 Kgs/day, Bouric Acid @ 1 Kgs/day as raw material and detail of the same is as under:
1. The industry has deposited Rs. 6600/- under Water Act 1974 vide UTR No. AXOMB13160466339 dated 10.05.2024 and Rs. 1100/- NOC regularization fee vide UTR No. AXOMB13160471519 dated 10.05.2024 and Rs. 500/- form fee vide UTR No. AXOMB13160474866 dated 10.05.2024 against the fixed assets of Rs. 4.70 lacs, which is adequate upto 30.06.2029.
2. The industry made an agreement with JBR Technology, Ludhiana @ 2000 ltr/ month for lifting of trade effluent.
3. The industry has submitted proprietorship certificate, rent agreement, manufacturing process with the application.
4. The industry has submitted approved building plan from competent person under Director of Factories Act, Punjab.
5. The industry has submitted a letter issued by M.C Jalandhar addressed to Fedration of Jalandhar Industrial & Traders association, vide no 348 dated 03.03.2014 mentioning that the area of Saini Colony, Dada Colony & Globe Colony falls in general industrial zone as per Master Plan 2009-2031.
6. The industry has submitted MSME as per proof of date of commissioning.
• The industry was visited by the AEE of this office on 23.02.2024 and it was observed that:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit and is engaged in the process of electroplating on job basis.
2. The industry has installed 1 no. nickle tank and 1 no. chrome tank for electroplating process in its premises.
3. The industry has provided 1 No. plastic storage tank of capacity 2000 ltrs for the storage of its effluent generated from the pickling process. The industry has stored approx. 1700 ltr in the storage tank during visit.
4. The industry has installed water meter on pipe line from fresh water is consumed in process and water meter reading was noted 00 KL during visit as the water meter installed on the visit date.
5. The industry has got effluent lifted to CETP operator of 3000 ltr during period from March/2024 to 24.05.2024.
6. The domestic effluent generated by the industry is being discharged into sewer.
7. The industry has not installed any DG set/furnace/boiler at site.
The industry is a small scale red category unit and competency to decide such case lies with Senior Environmental Engineer, Zonal Office, Jalandhar.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that fresh consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 may be granted upto 30.06.2029 with usual conditions as per policy of the Board and with special condition that :-
1. The industry shall maintain the record of fresh water consumption as well as lifted by CETP operator on daily basis.
