• The marriage palace was issued show cause notice alongwith an opportunity of personal hearing before the Senior Environmental Engineer on 29.04.2024.............
• During hearing it has been decided that the Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Bathinda shall visit the site of hotel-cum-banquet hall, within 07 days, verify the submission made by the prop. of hotel-cum-banquet hall and process the consent applications applied by it under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981, on merits…………….
• The visiting officer has now reported that the marriage palace has provided a hood (Turbo ventilator) and stack arrangement with the exhaust system in the kitchen section. STP installed @ 60 KLD based on MBBR technology, which was in operation during visit and the treated effluent from the STP was being disposed onto land for gardening. The palace has provided 1 compost pits for in-house management of the solid waste which was not proper and a lot of re-cycleable waste was found segregated and stored in open along the pit. Three D.G. sets of capacity @250 KVAx2 and 160 KVAx1 provided with canopy and stack of adequate height………..
• Keeping in view of above, if approved, CTO under the Water Act, 1974 be granted to the marriage palace upto 30.09.2025, subject to the following special conditions that:-
1. The marriage palace-cum-hotel will ensure compliance w.r.t. the guidelines issued for control of pollution and enforcement of environmental norms at Individual Establishments and the Area/Cluster of Restaurants/ Hotels/Motels/ Banquets issued vide Board’s office order no SEE(HQ-2)2021/64 dt. 02.02.2021………….
2. The marriage palace-cum-hotel shall operate the STP regularly and scientifically and maintain proper record of the effluent generated / treated……
3. The marriage palace-cum-hotel shall ensure no stagnation in the plantation area and will be bound to increase the same, in case stagnation is observed in it at any time…..
4. The marriage palace-cum-hotel shall not throw, burn or burry any solid wastes in open, outside premises or in drain / water bodies and shall ensure to manage the solid waste in compliance to the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016 at all times..………....
5. The marriage palace-cum-hotel shall ensure that there are no usages of single use plastic- thermocol disposable items such as water bottles / water pouches/water cups, plates, forks, spoons, straw etc. and single use decorating material made of plastic-thermocal or any other non-biodegradable material in the premises…….…...
6. The marriage palace-cum-hotel shall ensure the compliance of policy guidelines, building norms (covered area, set back etc.), width of approach road, parking etc. notified by the State Govt. from time to time for marriage palaces….………..
