Sir, the industry is a small scale red category unit and was granted consent to operate under the Water Act, 1974 valid upto 04/06/2029 and under the Air Act, 1981 valid upto 30/06/2023 for the manufacturing of Forging of cycle & auto parts @ 15000 Pcs/day & Chain wheel @ 2500 Pcs/day.
Now, the industry has applied for obtaining varied 'Consent to Operate' under the Air Act, 1981 with requisite documents. The consent fee is adequate upto 30/06/2029.
The industry was visited by RO on 06.06.2024 and it was reported as under: 1. The industry was in operation during the visit & engaged in manufacturing of cycle parts involving electroplating & acid pickling (H2SO4) process. 2. The manufacturing process of the industry is as Sheet/Patra - Pickling - Tawa cutting – Teeth cutting - Bending – Designing – Polishing – Electroplating – Fitting – Packing. 3. The industry has now installed 4 no. electric Induction Billets Heaters and dismantled earlier oil fired furnaces. So, it has applied for obtaining varied 'Consent to Operate' under Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981. 4. The industry has made an agreement with CETP operator Ludhiana for lifting its trade effluent generated from electroplating @ 40000 Ltr/month and pickling @ 6000 Ltr/month. 5. The domestic effluent @ 3.5 KLD of the industry is being discharged into sewer. 6. The industry is maintaining the record of the water consumption for process as well as untreated effluent lifted by the CETP operator / re-processor and as per the record the quantity of water consumed for wet process is in consonance with the quantity of effluent lifted to CETP as well as re-processor. 7. The industry has 4 no. DG sets of capacity 125 KVA, 160 KVA, 82 KVA & 380 KVA all placed in an acoustic room with adequate stack height. 8. The industry has already submitted building plan approved by the competent person under Factory Act, 1948. 9. The industry is complying with the provisions of Air Act, 1981.
In view of the above, it is therefore recommended that varied 'consent to operate' under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30/06/2028 with suitable conditions as per policy of the Board, please. (Category -Red, Small) (Competency -SEE)
