The industry is a small scale red category ‘dyeing unit’ and was granted ‘Consent to Operate’ under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH3/2020/13192213 dated 07.08.2020 valid upto 30.06.2024 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH3/2019/10411567 dated 14.10.2019 valid upto 30.06.2024 for dyeing of acrylic yarn @ 2000 kgs/day along with discharge of trade effluent @ 160.00 KLD into sewer after treatment through ETP & domestic effluent @ 0.5 KLD into sewer along with operation of one boiler of capacity 3.5 TPH with cyclone separator as APCD…………………………………….
Now, the industry has applied for Varied 'Consents to Operate' under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 through OCMMS for dyeing of acrylic yarn @ 1140 kgs/day and dyeing of PC / Cotton / Polyester clothes @ 2700 Kg/day along with discharge of trade effluent @ 412.00 KLD & domestic effluent @ 1.0 KLD into conveyance system of 50 MLD CETP along with operation of one boiler of capacity 3.5 TPH with cyclone separator as APCD and one DG set of capacity @ 125 KVA with canopy………………………...
The case was examined and it was observed as under:
1. Regional Office has reported that the industry has installed 12 Cabinet dyeing machines (60 kgs X 4, 120Kgs X 4, 60 kgs X4) and 04 soft flow machines (300 Kg X 3 & 450 Kg X 1) in its premises, however, as per detail of machinery attached in the documents shows that the industry has installed 09 cabinet dyeing machines (90 Kg x 1, 120 kg x 4, 60 kg x 4).
2. Regional Office has not submitted the comments regarding air emission sampling of the industry……………………………………..
