The industry is a small-scale green category unit and is a Cold Storage for Potato, Fruits & Vegetables @ 5910 MT/Year. The Project Proponent was earlier granted NOC/CTE for setting up an industrial unit u/s 25 of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and u/s 21 of Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTE/Fresh/LDH3/2021/16661776 dated 03.09.2021, which was valid upto 02.09.2022.
The industry has applied for fresh Consent to Operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS portal of the Board. The cold store has deposited Consent to Operate fees Rs. 42,000/- vide UTR/Ref no. P158240327272150 dated 06.06.2024 under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Rs. 42,000/- vide UTR/Ref no. P158240327271998 dated 06.06.2024, which is adequate upto 30.06.2025 after deducting the penalty fees. The industry has submitted document online such as electricity bill, partnership deed, registry, CA certificate etc. The project proponent has also obtained permission for change of land use for “Cold Store” for an area of 23 Kanals 06 Marlas (2.91 Acres), bearing khasra no. 201// 13/2(0-10), 14/1(5-10), 16(7-11), 17(7-19), 18/1/1(1-16), Village Sawaddi Khas-1, Tehsil Jagraon, District Ludhiana from Chief Town Planner, Ludhiana vide his endorsement no. 1211-14/CTP(Pb)/SP-432-(L) dated 04.03.2021.
The site of the cold store was visited by the officer of this office on 14.06.2024 and it was observed as under:
1. The cold store has provided proper green belt around the premises.
2. The cold store has installed 2 no. D.G. Sets of capacities160 KVA & 62.5 KVA, both are equipped with canopies.
3. The cold store has installed septic tank for the treatment of the domestic effluent generated from the premises and the treated effluent is discharged onto land for plantation. The effluent for cooling purpose is recirculated.
The industry is complying with the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
In view of above, it is recommended that the Consent to Operate applied by the industry under Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted for a period upto 30.06.2025 please.
