The detailed note of AEE regarding compliance of previous hearings given to the industry may kindly be perused. The industry has made majority of the compliances w.r.t decisions of personal hearing dated 01.04.2024 and has undertaken to provide water meter for maintaining record of cooling tower blowdown, as this has to be provided on the header line taking blowdown water back to the HCl scrubbers.
In view of above, it is recommended that:
A. Consent to operate under the provision of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted to the industry for a short period upto 31.03.2025 subject to the suitable conditions and following additional conditions that:
1. The industry shall install flow meter to record consumption of cooling tower blowdown latest by 30.06.2024.
2. The industry shall comply with the safety measures all the time.
3. The industry shall comply with the conditions of the Environmental Clearance granted by the Competent Authority.
B. A letter be written to Director of Factories, Punjab with the request to re-verify the premises of industry and submit the certificate to the effect that the measures provided by the industry are adequate and all safety measures are in place to avoid any such incidents in future within one month.
