Sir, the opinion of SLO has been perused and it has been reported that the concerned Regional Office may obtain an undertaking in the form of an affidavit from the industry that since the installation of the induction furnace the industry has not gone beyond the prescribed limit of 30,000 ton per annum for which Environmental Clearance is required. The industry will specifically mention in the affidavit its production capacity on monthly basis (month-wise) since the installation of induction furnace. If the production capacity is found to be less than 30,000 TPA, then the requisite consent to operate may be granted to the industry under the provisions of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 with suitable conditions.
If approved, Regional Office-2, Ludhiana may be requested to get the requisite undertaking in the form of an affidavit from the industry and submit recommendations in view of EIA notification dated 14.09.2006 by issuing a further amended notification no. 2215 (E) dated 07.06.2024 also, please.
