It is intimated that the industry is a small-scale red category unit and earlier the industry was granted Consent to Operate under the Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH4/2019/9934228 dated 14.06.2019, which are valid upto 30.06.2024 for manufacturing of Nuts & Bolts @ 1.5 MTD and End Cuttings @ 0.500 MTD by using Bolts/Nuts @ 1.5 MTD as raw material.
Now, the industry has applied for varied Consent to Operate under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS for manufacturing of Nuts & Bolts @ 1.7 MTD and End Cuttings @ 0.6 MTD by using Rods and bars @ 1.7 MTD as raw material.
The industry has deposited fee amounting to Rs. 54000/-vide R. No. 531372960 dated 11.05.2024 and Rs. 2200/- vide R.no. 723854858 dated 12.06.2024 under the Air Act, 1981, which is adequate upto 30.06.2029.
The industry was visited by the officer of this office on 21.05.2024 and it was observed as under: -
1. The industry was in operation during visit & is engaged in heat treatment process.
2. The industry has installed two no. tempering furnace provided with adequate stack height.
3. The industry has installed 02 oil fired furnace provided with hoods, however proper sampling arrangements has not been provided.
4. The industry has installed one no. rotary furnace and has been provided adequate stack height with hood system.
5. The industry has one gothali furnace and has been provided adequate stack.
6. The industry has installed 01 no. DG set of 380 KVA with canopy and adequate stack height.
7. The industry has not submitted an approved building plan approved by the Competent Person.
As such, the industry is not complying with the provisions of the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 of the Board.
In view of the above, it is recommended that show cause notice for refusal of consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry with opportunity of personal hearing.
