The Report / recommendations by RO be perused. It is further intimated that the industry is small scale red category electroplating unit and was earlier visited on 06-01-2024 and the Representative of Industry was unable to produce any record of Fresh water generated and trade effluent lifted. The industry also failed to show its agreement with JBR Technologies Ltd., Ludhiana. The industry was operating without consent to operate of the Board.
Accordingly, the industry was given hearing before Chief Environmental Engineer Jalandhar on 22.3.2024 and no one from the industry attended the hearing. Accordingly the industry was issued direction u/s 33-A of the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 for closure & disconnection of electric connection.
Now, the industry has applied for consent to operate and as per report from RO is complying with the provisions of Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981. The electric connection of the industry was disconnected by PSPCL authority vide TDCO No. 083 dated 14.06.2024.
May if approved,
1) Consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 06-months with suitable terms and conditions.
2) Directions u/s 33-A of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 as amended in 1988 be issued for restoration of electric connection for 06-months.
