Sir, it is submitted that the Punjab Brick Kiln Associations has filed a writ petition no. CWP 24772 of 2023 in the Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh against the notification of the Punjab Government dated 04.11.2022 regarding mandatory replace atleast 20% coal with paddy straw based pellets as fuel.
Accordingly, the Hon'ble Court vide its order dated 06.11.2023 has passed order that 'no adverse steps to be taken against the brick kiln till the next date of hearing"
Hence, the brick kilns are not using paddy straw pellets as fuel, however, the matter is being perused continuously by this office with the brick kiln associations.
