It is submitted that the industry is a small scale red category unit. The industry had earlier applied for consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981. Accordingly, the industry has granted consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH2/2023/20822925 dated 30/01/2023 valid upto 30/06/2027 and application for consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 was refused due to the reasons mentioned therein.
Now, the industry has applied for fresh consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 alongwith requisite documents.
The site of industry was visited by the AEE/JEE of this office on 27.06.2024 and it was observed as under:-
1. The industry was in operation during the visit and engaged in electroplating process.
2. The industry has made an MOU with M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., (Unit-I), Ludhiana @ 5000 Ltr/M for the disposal of trade effluent generated from process.
3. The industry has installed water meter in process area and the reading was noted to be 28.65 KL as observed during the visit.
4. The industry has provided one storage tank of capacity 5000 Ltr each and approx.. 500 Ltr of effluent was stored in the tank as observed during the visit.
5. As such, the industry is getting the trade effluent lifted in synchronization with water consumed.
6. The industry has maintained the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana.
7. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.
8. The industry has not installed any boiler/furnace/D.G set in its premises.
9. The industry has submitted the approved building plan from the approved person of Director of Factories, Ludhiana.
10. The industry is located in designated industrial zone i.e. Industrial Area –C, Ludhiana as per Khasra no. mentioned in the Gazette Notification.
11. The industry is complying with the provisions under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981.
Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water Act, 1974 may be considered for granted upto 30.06.2028 with special condition that the industry shall maintain regular record of water consumption viz-a-viz effluent lifting and submit copy of the same 5th of every month to Regional Office
