It is submitted that the industry was issued notice to issue directions u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 and u/s 31-A of the Air Act, 1981 with opportunity of personal hearing before the Chairman of the Board on 14.06.2024, wherein it was decided as under:-
1. Directions u/s 31-A of the Air Act, 1981 and 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 be issued against the industry that the industry shall not operate any industrial activity in residential area portion.
2. The industry shall apply for consent, within 07 days, in 2/3 area only which falls in industrial mix zone.
3. The industry shall develop its plantation area with karnal technology for disposal of domestic effluent after passing through septic tank, within 15 days.
4. The industry shall operate its APCD regularly and efficiently.
5. The Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Regional Office-4, Ludhiana shall visit the industry, verify the contentions made by it and submit the report alongwith conclusive recommendations, within 15 days.
It is further intimated that the industry has applied for obtaining CTO for the whole premises including residential portion. As such, the application cannot be processed. The industry has been guided to apply CTO as decided during hearing dated 14.06.2024.
