1. It is Intimated that industry is Large scale orange category Unit.
2. The industry was earlier granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide No. CTOW/Renewal/JAL2/2022/20038333 Dated 23.11.2022 and vide CTOA/Renewal/JAL2/2022/20039107 Dated 08.12.2022 valid upto 31.03.2024 under orange category for the production of Auto Parts @ 3000 Number/day by using Steel @ 30 MT/day as a raw material.
3. Now, the industry has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS.
4. The industry deposited Rs.1, 68,000 /- vide UTR No. AXOIC08777738605 Dated 27.03.2024 & Rs.10800/- Vide UTR No. AXOIC08777740115 dated 27.03.2024 as NOC fees under Water Act (Prevention & Control of Pollution), 1974 & Rs.1, 68,000 /- vide UTR no. AXOIC08777737202 dated 27.03.2024 & Rs. 500/- Vide UTR No. AXOIC08777741152 as Form fee under Air Act (Prevention & Control of Pollution), 1981. Adequate upto 31.03.2026.
5. The industry was visited by officer of this office on 19.06.2024 and it was observed that;
• The industry was in operation during visit and is engaged in manufacturing of Auto parts from steel sheets as raw material and various processes included are forging, heating, painting, heat treatment, CNC machines, machine shop etc.
• There is no source of trade effluent generation.
• The industry has installed STP consisting of collection tank --- aeration tank ----tube settler ----filters for the treatment domestic effluent which is being discharged onto land for plantation on an area approx. 4 Kanal which is adequate.
• The effluent samples from final outlet of STP were collected during visit and the analysis report received from Zonal Lab, Jalandhar vide no. 1887-89 dated: 26.06.2024, the results are pH= 7.9 (mg/l), COD= 64(mg/l), BOD= 13(mg/l), TSS= 18(mg/l), TDS= 480 (mg/l) & O & G= 4.4 (mg/l). As per the analysis report the concentration of various parameters are within the permissible limit.
• The industry has provided tank for sprinkling of treated STP water for dust emission on the sides of the movement area as well as for floor cleaning purpose.
• The industry has installed 2 no shot blasting machine with bag house filter as APCD and adequate stack, 01 No. hardening furnace, 01 No. Tempering furnace with adequate stack height. The industry has installed 2 no. paint booths with water curtains and adequate stack height. The industry has installed 02 No. oil fired forging furnaces with hood and adequate stack height and gas carburizing furnaces with adequate stack height.
• The industry has provided paved area for vehicle movement within the premises.
• The industry is large scale orange category and the competency to decide the application with CEE, Jalandhar.
Recommendation:- Keeping in view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 31.03.2026 with suitable conditions.
