Violation of the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 (Prevention & Control of Pollution) - M/s Jai Sharda Rice Mills, Village Jhunir, Distt. Mansa
It is submitted that the Industry is a Rice Sheller unit for manufacturing Dry/Sorted Rice @5TPH with dryer. The Industry has been granted Consent to establish vide no. CTE/Exp/MNS/2023/22552014dated 07.07.2023 valid upto 06.07.2024.
The industry has deposited Rs. 42000/- vide no. 297557868 & 555122443 dated 15.6.2024 against the CA value of 143 lacs which is adequate upto 31.3.2028.
To check the compliance status of the Industry, the industry was visited on 25.06.2024 by AEE(OS) of this Board and it was observed as under:-
1. The Industry was in operation during the visit.
2. The Industry has installed separate cyclones as APCD with the shelling section and with the paddy cleaner of the dryer section. The stack height provided with the paddy cleaner of the dryer section was found broken during the visit. No sampling arrangement had been provided for both the cyclones as APCD.
3. The Industry has provided pucca road within the premises for the movement of vehicles.
4. The Industry has provided plantations along the boundary wall within the premises.
5. The Industry has not provided a windscreen (Jali) over the 10-foot boundary wall in the husk storage area.
6. The Industry hasprovided Septic tank for the treatment of domestic effluent generated but the stagnation pond was found onto the land during the visit.
From the above, it is clear that the industry is violating the provisions of the Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981.
If approved, SCN for violation of the provisions of Water Act, 1974 and the Air Act, 1981 may be issued to the industry due to above-said violations.
