• Authorization under Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016 was valid upto 30.06.2021 and now the applicant has applied for obtaining authorization under the said Rules, which is being dealt separately…………….
• The industry was visited by officers of the Board on 01.12.2022 and certain violations were observed under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981…………….
• Notice u/s 33-A of the Water Act, 1974 & u/s 31-A of Air Act, 1981 with revocation of consents to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 and show cause notice violation of the provisions of HOWM Rules, 2016 alongwith an opportunity of personal hearing on 26.12.2022, which was postponed to 02.02.2023, wherein it was decided by the Chief Environmental Engineer (B) that:-………….
1. The industry will ensure to operate its APCD regularly & scientifically as well as follow the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) notified by the Board for such units so as to achieve the prescribed standards on regular basis……………
2. The industry shall maintain record of readings of water meter installed on fresh water supply line viz-a-viz generation of the wastewater from the process on daily basis & shall submit the same to the Regional Office, Bathinda on monthly basis…………..
3. Environmental Engineer, Regional Office, Bathinda shall immediately visit the industry to verify the compliance (s) / submissions made by the industry at site & process the authorization application submitted by the industry on merits…………….
4. During hearing, it has been made clear to the proprietor of the industry that in case of any violation(s) in future, further action as deemed fit shall be initiated under the provisions of the Water Act, 1974; the Air Act, 1981 and HOWM Rules, 2016……………..
• The industry was visited by the officers of the Board on 28.09.2023 and one no. air emissions samples was collected from the stack of the APCD of Induction Furnace i.e., Wet Scrubber and as per the analysis report the concentration of the Particular Matter was found to be 74mg/Nm3…………….
• Now, the industry has applied for obtaining consents to operate under Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981 alongwith an agreement executed with the CETP Electroplating Ludhiana on 28.4.2023 (valid upto 31.05.2025) for lifting & treatment of effluent @ 600 ltr/month…………….
• The industry was visited by officer of the Board on 21.06.2024 and it was observed that:-……………
1. The industry was in operation……………….
2. The industry has installed 2 no. induction furnaces of capacity 300 kg/heat & 150 kg/heat with common water scrubber installed as APCD with adequate stack height as well as sampling arrangements.………………
3. The industry has also installed hot dip galvanizing furnace with alkali water scrubber installed as APCD with adequate stack height and sampling arrangements…………..
4. The industry has installed shot blasting machine with in-built dust collector installed as APCD and outlet leading into closed chamber……………..
5. The industry has provided storage tank of 5 KL capacity to store the trade effluent generated from the surface treatment process of the hot dip galvanizing section. The trade effluent from this tank is lifted to M/s JBR Technology Pvt. Ltd., Phase-VIII, Focal Point, Ludhiana for which the industry has made agreement with CETP, Ludhiana. The industry is maintaining the record of the same. The industry has lastly lifted the effluent @ 3000 ltr to CETP vide receipt no. 497042 dated 30.12.2023……………
6. The industry is complying with the conditions of consents to operate granted under the Water Act, 1974 & Air Act, 1981……………..
• In view of above, if approved, consent to operate under the Air Act, 1981 be granted to the industry for manufacturing of electricity distribution line items & general casting (Disc plates/rocker plates) @ 2000 pieces/day upto 30.06.2029, subject to the following special conditions that:-…………
