File Note: Sir, as discussed and also decided in a similar case i.e. M/s Inbrew Beverages Pvt. Ltd., Derabassi before increasing the production capacity of the industry beyond 60%. The industry may be asked to submit the adequacy of pollution control devices installed by the industry (Water & Air Pollution) including water balance and production capacity at which the industry may be allowed from IIT, Ropar/NITTTR, Chandigarh or any other institute of repute. As such, it is recommended that: a) Directions may be issued to PSPCL authorities for permanently restoring the electric connection of the industry, as it has been found compliance in previous 3 visits. b) The consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted for six months with subject to suitable conditions and the following additional conditions as under: 1) The industry shall only operate at 60% capacity, as earlier allowed by the Board. 2) The industry shall submit the adequacy of pollution control devices installed by the industry (Water & Air Pollution) including water balance and production capacity at which the industry may be allowed from IIT, Ropar/NITTTR, Chandigarh or any other institute of repute, before any increase in the production capacity of the industry is allowed by the Board. 3) The industry shall cover the effluent collection tank and commission the alkali scrubber on the same within 15 days. 4) The industry shall not discharge any trade & domestic effluent (treated or untreated) into choe / drain /river or in inland surface water at any time or any other unauthorized place by any unauthorized means and shall reuse the treated effluent (MEE condensate) in the utilities in accordance with the water balance submitted by it. Further, the industry shall stick to the water balance submitted by it. 5) The industry shall maintain good housekeeping in the effluent treatment section and shall ensure that the MEE are always in good working conditions at all times. 6) The industry shall operate its STP regularly and efficiently and treated effluent shall be discharged onto land for plantation conforming to the effluent standards prescribed by the Board. *Competency: Worthy Chairman of the Board
