It is submitted that the STP was granted Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 dated 18.02.2023, which has been expired on 31.01.2023…………………………..
Now, the Punjab Water Supply & Sewerage Division, Ludhiana has applied for renewal of Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 through OCMMS………………….
The Local Body has deposited consent fee, which is adequate upto 31.01.2025………………….
STP is installed by Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana and is being operated by the Department of Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board. The capacity of STP is 225 MLD and the same is based on SBR technology. STP is being monitored by the Board on monthly basis. As per the analysis reports of the effluent samples collected from the outlet of STP, it is achieving the effluent standards prescribed by the Board…………………………….
The STP was visited by AEE of RO on 29.05.2024 and it was observed that:
1. All the components/ reactors of the STP were in operation.
2. STP is connected with SCADA system to monitor online activities.
3. Treated effluent of the STP was being discharged into Buddha Nallah and the physical appearance of treated effluent was almost clear.
4. During visit effluent samples were collected from the outlet of the STP and as per the analysis report received from the Board's lab, it is achieving the standards prescribed by the Board.
5. STP is complying with the provisions of Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974.
Thereafter, the industry a clarification was raised to submit compliance of previous granted consent conditions. Now, the Regional Office reported that the project proponent has submitted the compliance status of previously granted consent to operate along with other necessary documents and photographs.................................

As proposed by Regional Office, may, if approved that Consent to Operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 for operation & maintenance of Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) of capacity 225 MLD at Jamalpur, District Ludhiana may be granted for upto 31.01.2025 with usual conditions..................................
