It is submitted that the industry is small scale red category electroplating unit. The industry was granted consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 vide no. CTOW/Renewal/LDH4/2021/16183106 dated 02.08.2021, valid upto 30.06.2026 for production of handle bars & other cycle parts etc @ 10,000 Number/day and for discharge of Trade Effluent @ 3 KLD lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana & domestic effluent @ 4.5 KLD into sewer and consent to operate under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 vide no. CTOA/Renewal/LDH4/2021/16183251 dated 02.08.2021, valid upto 30.06.2026 for operation of one diesel fired boiler with adequate stack height, 02 diesel oil fired brazing furnaces with adequate stack height and one DG set of capacity 125 KVA equipped with canopy in the name and style of M/s Flying Stag Bikes Pvt Ltd, F-92-93 & 102, Focal Point, Phase-7, Ludhiana.
Now, the industry has applied for varied of consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 through OCMMS in compliance to the previous proceedings held before the SEE, ZO-2, Ludhiana for production of handle bars & other cycle parts etc @ 10,000 Number/day and for discharge of Trade Effluent @ 45000 Ltrs/month lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Ludhiana & domestic effluent @ 4.5 KLD into sewer in the name and style of M/s Flying Stag Bikes Pvt Ltd, F-92-93 & 102-103, Focal Point, Phase-7, Ludhiana.
The industry has deposited Rs. 64800/- vide UTR No. N057242901577602 dated 26.02.2024 under Water Act, 1974 and Rs. 64800/- vide N040242876050195 dated 02.09.2024 under Air Act, 1981 and Rs. 2200/- vide R.no. N057242901577999 dated 26.02.2024, which is adequate upto 30.06.2029 against the gross value of fixed assets Rs. 548.28 Lacs and plant & machinery Rs. 327.76 Lacs as on 31.03.2024.
Accordingly, the industry was visited by undersigned on 11.07.2024 and it was observed as under:
1. The industry was in operation and is engaged in manufacturing of cycle parts having electroplating process.
2. The industry has provided water meter on the source of fresh water supply & reading was noted to be 1622.5 KL.
3. The industry is maintaining the record of water consumed in the process. The water meter reading on 01.01.2024 was noted to be 1434 KL. As such the industry has consumed 188.5 KL of fresh water in the process since 01.01.2024 and as per the lifting receipts it has got lifted 185 KL to M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana.
4. The industry has provided storage tank of size 6'7"x6'4"x6'5 for collection of trade effluent generated from the process. Approximate 5000 ltr. of effluent was lying in the storage tank during the visit.
5. The industry has provided separate register and is maintaining the record of water consumption in process as well as effluent lifted by M/s JBR Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana.
6. As per the record being maintained by the industry regarding consumption of fresh water in the process and the lifting by the CETP operator the record is in consonance.
7. The industry is discharging only domestic effluent into sewer.
8. The industry has installed 02 brazing furnaces attached with adequate hood along with adequate stack height.
9. The industry has installed one DG sets of capacity 125 KVA equipped with canopy and adequate stack height.
The industry is complying with the provisions of Water Act, 1974 and Air Act, 1981.
In view of above, it is recommended that consent to operate under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and under the Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be granted upto 30.06.2029 in the name and style of M/s Flying Stag Bikes Pvt Ltd, F-92-93 & 102-103, Focal Point, Phase-7, Ludhiana for discharge of 45000 ltrs/month to lifted to CETP Operator and only domestic effluent @ 4.5 KLD into sewer along with other suitable conditions.
