It is submitted that PAIC was afforded an opportunity of personal hearing before Chairman of the Board on 14.06.2024, wherein it was decided as under:
1. The industry shall operate its CETP regularly and efficiently so as to achieve the prescribed standards.
2. Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana shall re-collect the effluent samples of the CETP.
3. Environmental Engineer, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Regional Office-3, Ludhiana shall verify the contentions of the industry and process the ‘Consent to Establish/ NOC for expansion application of the industry accordingly.
Now, the Regional Office has reported that for compliance of decision no. 1 of the proceedings of personal hearing given to the PP for the Hon’ble Chairman of the Board on 14.06.2024. The Mega Food Park was visited by AEE of RO-3 on 11.07.2024 to carry out monitoring of the CETP installed by the PP for treatment of trade effluent of the industries established in Mega Food Park and it was observed that PAIC has taken shut down of all the industries of Mega Food Park due to maintenance of CETP. No effluent was being discharged from the outlet of CETP hence, monitoring of the CETP could not be carried out…………………………..
Thus, no compliance has been reported to the decision of the hearing afforded by Worthy Chairman of the Board…………………………..
If approved, Regional Office be requested to re-collect the samples at the time of operation of the CETP, please. |
