• The hotel a large scale red category unit.
• It is intimated that earlier, the hotel was given personal hearing before Chairman of the Board on 17.03.2024, Wherein it was decided as under:-
1. The project proponent shall commission & stabilize the sewage treatment plant well before the commissioning of hotel.
2. The project proponent shall inform the Regional Office-1, Punjab Pollution Control Board, Jalandhar at least 20-days before commissioning of the hotel for monitoring purpose.
3. The consent to operate applied by the project proponent under the Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 be granted for short period (for monitoring purpose) i.e. upto 31.03.2024.
4. The Regional Office-1, Jalandhar shall verify the status, collect & get the effluent samples analysed, within 01-month after commissioning of hotel and submit detailed report alongwith recommendations, accordingly.
• Accordingly the hotel was granted consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 valid upto 31.03.2024 for Rooms @ 72 Numbers/Day, Banquet Hall @ 1 Numbers/Day, Restaurant @ 2 Numbers/Day, Swimming Pool @ 1 Numbers/Day.
• Now, the hotel has applied for renewal of consent to operate under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act 1981 through OCMMS of the Board for Rooms @ 72 Numbers/Day, Banquet Hall @ 1 Numbers/Day, Restaurant @ 2 Numbers/Day, Swimming Pool @ 1 Numbers/Day.
• The hotel has deposited Rs. 84000/- vide UTR No. AXOBR14593060251 dated 24.05.2024 under water Act 1974 and Rs. 84000/- vide UTR No. AXOBR14593060253 dated 24.05.2024 under Air Act 1981 against the fixed assets of Rs. 5641.53 lacs, which are adequate upto 31.03.2025.
• The site of the hotel was visited by officer of this office of this office on 15.07.2024 and it was observed that:-
• Hotel has not been commissioned yet, approximately 30% work is pending, the representative informed during the visit it will take 4 to 5 months for completion of the same.
• The hotel is a 5 star rating but the hotel has not submitted any documentary proof / certificate regarding star rating.
• The hotel has install ETP/STP for the treatment of effluent to be generated from its premises of capacity 59 KLD and disposal of the same into sewer. The hotel has also submitted completion certificate of installation of ETP/STP. But the pipeline of components of STP/ETP is yet to be connected.
• The samples could not be collected as the hotel as well as STP are not commissioned yet.
• The hotel has installed flow meter/separate energy meter with the STP.
• The hotel has installed two DG set of capacity 380 KVA with canopy at site.
• The Hotel has submitted a letter from Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar vide no. 240//SE dated 11.09.2014 for disposal of its solid waste as well as for sewerage.
Keeping in view of above Consent to operate Under Water (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1974 and Air (Prevention & Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 may be refused.
